Fluconazole

Fluconazole is an antifungal agent.


Indication - Fluconazole

Fluconazole is used for the treatment of infections caused by candidiasis. It is indicated for the treatment of:
  • Oropharyngeal candidiasis
  • Esophageal candidiasis
  • Candida urinary tract infections
  • Peritonitis
  • Systemic candida infections including candidemia, disseminated candidiasis, and pneumonia
  • Cryptococcal meningitis
Fluconazole

Fluconazole is also indicated as a prophylaxis to decrease the incidence of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
