Elsamitrucin - Phase 1

A heterocyclic antitumor antibiotic related to chartreusin

Elsamitrucin Mode of Action

Induces single strand breaks in DNA and inhibits topoisomerase I and II, enzymes that play an important role in DNA replication.

Anti-Tumor Properties
  • Elsamitrucin has shown a wide spectrum of activity against experimental tumor models.
  • Elsamitrucin has shown synergy with paclitaxel (Taxol®) in in vivo mouse models
  • Relative lack of myleosuppresion

  • Phase 1 dose-escalation study in combination with paclitaxel in patients with advanced solid tumors
